八桂田园—广西现代农业技术展示中心于1999年3月由广西农业厅利用广西农业职业技术学院实习农场开始创办，由广西八桂农业科技有限公司承建。园区围绕“现代农业展示；新品种、新技术、新成果应用推广；农业科普技术培训；农业产业化经营和观光旅游农业”五大功能进行建设经营，是“全国农业科普示范基地”、 “全国农村科普示范基地”、“广西无公害蔬菜生产基地”、“广西青少年科普教育基地”和“广西农业职业技术学院教学基地”，是目前国内同类园区中功能全、投资少、效果好、科技含量高、辐射力强并颇具地方特色的现代农业示范园；同时，八桂田园依托其工厂化农业设施的产业优势，以通过在全区范围内建立产业基地及无公害农产品连锁经营点，努力打造广西蔬菜产业龙头。
在社会品牌推广上，“广西现代农业技术展示中心”在建设和经营过程中，得到各有关领导的大力支持和认可，现已作为广西现代农业建设的对外窗口，取得了巨大的社会效应。来园视察的国家领导人包括中共中央总书记、国家主席胡锦涛同志；国外有莱索托国家首相、瓦努阿图国家总理、越南副总理、老挝副总理等领导人。
一、已建造现代化农业设施60000㎡，为广西发展现代农业树立了典范。
二、共引进国内外农作物新品种650个进行生产开发及推广。
三、新模式、新品种幅射全区13个市、70个县。
四、以“公司＋基地＋农户＋市场”的产业模式，建立了金陵、田东、三塘、等无公害蔬菜生产基地，基地面积达5000多亩。
五、八桂无公害蔬菜营销网络：全市33个“八桂”无公害蔬菜专卖点，包括各大超市、大型农贸市场和社区。
六、农业科技培训人数11万人次，其中学生65000人次，技术人员18000人次，农民15000人次，解放军12000人次。
七、共接待观光旅游人数100万人次。 经营项目：观光农业、农业科技服务、餐饮、农作物种子（苗）、花卉、无公害农副产品、绿化美化工程设计及施工、花卉租赁及庭院花卉护理等。

Demonstration Zone was founded in March 1999, in the farm for
exercitation of Guangxi Agricultural Vocation-Technical College.
And Guangxi Bagui Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd
is in charge of managing the zone. Bagui Farm is divided into
five functionary areas, namely the modern agriculture demonstration
area, the application and popularization area of new varieties、technology
and achievements，agricultural popular-science education area，agricultural
industrialization management area，as well as agricultural sightseeing
and tourism area.
Bagui Farm is one of the best agricultural
demonstration zones in China with complete function、low input、good
effect and local special feature，which has been constructed
into a demonstration base for national agricultural popular-science
education, a demonstration base for national rural popular-science
education, a production base of non-polluted vegetables in Guangxi,
a base of popular-science education for Guangxi’s juveniles,
an education base for school students.
At present，Bagui Farm has constructed
60thousands of square meters of modern farming facilities，which
can produce many crops with its corresponding technology，such
as vegetables、fruits、flowers、seeds and seedlings and so on.
We have succeeded in the introduction、demonstration and popularization
of non-polluted agricultural products with the modern farming
facilities and its corresponding technology. Besides，we have
been studying the industrial management of seeds and seedlings、agricultural
materials、bio-engineering、technical training and leisure agriculture，which
has represented a good situation. In order to further extend
the industrial scale of Bagui Farm, the company adopts the business
mode of “Company+Base+Farmer+Market ” and registers the brand
“Bagui”. At the same time, the company continues to develop
planting base of non-polluted agricultural products and marketing
networks. A series of fine quality products of vegetables and
fruits with “Bagui ” brand produced in Bagui Farm well sell
on the market and meet the demand of the public.
In future, Guangxi Bagui Agricultural
Science and Technology Co., Ltd will construct the second phase
project on the basis of extended construction and perfecting
Guangxi Modern Agricultural Science & Technology Demonstration
Zone (the first phase project). A new-high agricultural area
inviting outside investment will be set up in the second phase
project, which will absorb funds and talents from home and abroad.
In future Guangxi Modern Agricultural Science & Technology
Demonstration Zone will take on a new image in the public with
more strong technology、perfect facilities、sound layout and complete
function.
